OZE auctions 2026: seven auctions on 2–10 November, almost PLN 25 billion of support
The President of URE (the Energy Regulatory Office) has announced the schedule of this year's renewable energy auctions. The largest basket, for new wind and photovoltaic installations above 1 MW, covers 53.25 TWh of energy.
The President of URE (the Energy Regulatory Office) has announced seven regular auctions for the sale of energy from renewable sources. All of them will take place between 2 and 10 November 2026. In total, around 76 TWh of energy worth nearly PLN 25 billion is to be allocated. Information on the dates and conditions of the auctions was published on 18 September by the Gramwzielone.pl portal, and the official URE announcement appeared on 22 September 2026.
The most for wind and photovoltaics
From the perspective of the photovoltaic farm market, the two baskets earmarked for onshore wind and photovoltaic installations are the key ones. Together they cover 64.5 TWh of energy worth just over PLN 17.9 billion. The auction for installations of up to 1 MW is scheduled for 9 November, and the one for installations above 1 MW for 10 November 2026. The latter (AZ/7/2026) is the largest in this year's calendar: it provides for the sale of 53.25 TWh of energy.
- 7 regular auctions between 2 and 10 November 2026,
- in total approx. 76 TWh of energy worth nearly PLN 25 billion,
- PV and onshore wind baskets: 64.5 TWh and just over PLN 17.9 billion,
- the only bid selection criterion: the lowest price,
- only new installations may take part in the auctions.
Deadlines not to be missed
Participation in an auction requires obtaining a certificate of admission beforehand. According to Gramwzielone.pl, documents under this procedure could be submitted from 18 September to 2 October 2026, and the office has 30 days to issue the certificate. The exact dates and requirements should be confirmed each time in the announcements published in the URE Public Information Bulletin (BIP).
Price as the only criterion
The auction mechanism remains simple: the bids with the lowest price win, until the volume or value of energy in a given basket is exhausted. For investors this means a predictable, long-term energy sales contract, but also strong cost pressure: the outcome is determined by construction, financing and grid connection costs, as well as the quality of the location. Admitting only new installations means that the auctions are a direct impulse for the construction of further farms.
Significance for the market
The scale of this year's baskets confirms that the auction system remains one of the main tools for the development of utility-scale photovoltaics in Poland. For projects above 1 MW, the November auction is the most important date at the end of the year. At NRG+ we are preparing photovoltaic farm and energy storage projects with precisely such energy sales routes in mind, from land selection and grid connection capacity analysis to the documentation investors need.
